Darl K. Johnston

My love for landscaping started when I worked with my father, Darl Johnston, building and maintaining a 36-hole golf course, Rogues Roost. He taught me the value of hard work, dedication, and integrity. 

To supplement this experience with education and expert knowledge in design, I earned an M.A. degree in landscape architecture from SUNY-ESF. I went on to work for a renowned landscape architecture firm in Boston doing large-scale design work for numerous clients over 8 years. This is where I learned valuable design principles from Bill Pressley and other colleagues at Pressley Associates. 

In 2010, I returned to the Syracuse area to work alongside my father at the golf course overseeing the operation. When Randy Blass informed me that he was selling Bushnell Landscaping, I saw this as an opportunity to get involved in the construction side of landscape design. I have always had a passion for working with the landscape to create beautiful spaces. That passion continues to fuel my service to you.
